Woodend Hawks Basketball Club, Kids Basketball Competition, Under 12s, Under 19s,Macedon Ranges Basketball Association

We play in the Sunbury Basketball Association (SBA) Junior Domestic competition.

Age groups are:
        - U10 to U19 for Girls
        - U10 to U21 for Boys

BASKETBALL SEASONS & AGE GROUPS

The “basketball year” is divided into two halves.

The Summer season spans School Terms 4 and 1, followed by the Winter season over Terms 2 and 3.
 
Age groups are allocated based on the player being under the age of the competition level as of midnight on the 31st of December of the year the competition concludes.

For the Summer 2024/25 season the below age groups apply:
        - Under 10: Born 2016 & 2017 (Boys & Girls)
        - Under 12: Born 2014 & 2015 (Boys & Girls)
        - Under 14: Born 2012 & 2013 (Boys & Girls)
        - Under 16: Born 2010 & 2011 (Boys & Girls)
        - Under 18: Born 2008 & 2009 (Boys)
        - Under 19: Born 2007, 2008 & 2009 (Girls)
        - Under 21: Born 2005, 2006 & 2007 (Boys).

COSTS

  • Registration fees are calculated each season and cover training and game fees.

  • Basketball Victoria charges a $29 annual insurance fee with Basketball Australia charging a $5.50 annual Game Development Levy.

  • Players also need to order a Singlet and Shorts. Singlets cost $55 with Shorts costing $45
​
  • ​A family discount of 50% off the 3rd Child's registration fees is available​

PLAYER WAIT LISTS

WHBC endeavours to ensure all interested players are allocated to a team. When this is not possible, we create a waitlist for the next season and ensure we reach out when registrations are called for.

We invite all waitlisted players to join training with the appropriate age group until a permanent spot in a team becomes available.

Game locations are within the Macedon Ranges and Sunbury regions.
